Top or side eye bolt...which works better

Been looking to get into Magnet fishing and have seen magnets with both the top and/or side mount for the eye bolt. It seems the side mount would make retrieval easier. Is this the case? Does it matter?

The eyebolt on the side would give you an advantage as far as hitting targets, but the hang up is more likely. The top eyebolt can take a cone to prevent hangups. good luck.

side is for throwing out and dragging back in. top eyebolt is for dropping straight down and bobbing on the bottom

For fishing magnet I use double sided magnet, it's very strong a catch a lot.

OK one trick i use on the top eye bolt is to Zip Tie a empty 20 ounce plastic coke bottle. When i have the right weight condition i can drop the magnet off of a bridge. to the bottom of the river. Then i can bump the line and it keeps walking down the river. With a little practice you all can do it also. The trick is to get the right amount of weight in the bottle to walk it down river.
