It is said that there aresimilarities between the way a place for the buiding of a fortress or castle,
and the place for hinding treasure has been chosen in past.

Well, a castle mostly is located at the top of hills that allow great overview but are easily defentable,
mostly close to villages. What does that say about hinding places of coins of that certain epoche?

Coins are a little more personal and would be hidden where a person lives or close to a special place near where they lived. Fireplaces, over-top door jams, in the house walls, by the corners of foundations, along fence lines or any landmark where a person lived like a stream bank.

Actually, where people buried their caches is predictable but finding whom might have had enough to stash, then finding their property is much more problematic.

Thank you for answering Coinhelp,

Am I right whe I say, that hidding places should allow a non-perceived oportunity for digging the treasure.
Is the fact that coins are hidden near the home of the owner, due to the opportunity that the own home offers,
that the digging and hiding process is "unseen"?

I think most treasure hunters have learned where most people hide their treasures, so if you can find an untapped location then you can use this knowledge to find something hidden. You do have to think of things other people might not have thought of and it helps to know something about the owner since that could give you clues to where they might hide something.

You should know if the person was a hunter or a moonshiner since they might have chosen a location in their stomping grounds to bury a valuable. You just never know.
