Ok guys this coin was found on the central coast of California on pismo beach. The spanish have a history at mission san luis obispo here so i assumed spanish reale or piece of 8 but i couldnt match it online so i assumed its more foreign than im familiar with. Help me out fellers the owner is leaving to hawaii in a few days and he doesn't really care much about it. Im hoping to light a fire under his ass and get him interested in the history a little. Theres also the sir francis drake story of his hidden spanish treaure here it could have a relation.

It is indeed more foreign than a Spanish 8 Reale. It hails from China. It is a crude cast replica of a Lima 8 reale. Perhaps the owner realized this and would explain his lack of interest.
