TOTALLY WORKED! Front lit display for your Metal Detector at Night. Under $1.

Pretty fun little invention. Thanx for sharing. One caution for anyone using this, or headlamps, or any other "back-light" that's incorporated some machines: Your eyes/pupils will eventually become focussed on that light. And you'll become blind to everything outside that beam of light. So it's better to let your eyes become adjusted to the moon light, lest you eventually be bumping into bushes, walls, etc.... And only turn on a light when you need to see your screen for some reason . Otherwise I rely on the TID tones when night hunting.

So I wonder if your invention could be modified to have an on/off ?

Simple but effective Skippy. :icon_thumright: I'm a daylight guy. :dontknow:

great invention. too bad Garrett did not incorporate an LED into the screen. one thing that light wont detect in the woods where I hunt, rattlesnakes and copperheads. both are out at night big time. Would be useful for a park or something like that though. thanks for sharing.

What about instead of tape use Velcro that way easy to remove and mount quickly

Here is a little trick I picked up in the field.

When you need to use a light source in the dark, just close the dominate eye and keep it closed until the light is off again. Try it.
