Toy Cowboy hat??

Hello all, I was digging at a local park yesterday and I found this metal hat its either copper or brass. Its 2.25 inches long, 1.25 inches wides and almost 0.75 inches tall. Anyone know what its from or what kind of toy it may go on? It may have some writing on it, but I will have to clean it better to get a better look at it. Any ideas? Thanks glhh!!

Back in the day, they used to make ashtrays like that. They were made from a bronze copper looking stuff. That would be my guess.
