Relic Hunting
The first hunt I went on just after beads I hated and swore I would never do it again. A more or less 6 hour hunt with only a few tiny seed beads for the trouble. :( Forced back by my buddies who were finding them pretty good, somehow I got hooked and then it was all I could think about...for a period of time. :)

Wow..looks like you got it figured out.
Time consuming test of patients isn't it?
I met someone who lived across from a little church in the Tampa bay area whose front lawn happened to be full of beads.

it was early eighties, right after the Lil "T" was flooded. They are still to be found in large numbers but because its fun to do it is now considered illegal.....ain't it always the way....the smoker ups would rather they all be lost than shared..:( They already know all there is to know about a few seed beads. We use to use a Black light and night hunt them.....they stand out like a sore thumb then. The last time I visited this spot got enough blues and whites to make my oldest grandson a bracelet. All surface finds and found one at a time except in the instances when part of the cordage still remained. Found quite a few 4 and 5 beads still on the string....the onion skin ones (clear w/White stripes) are the hardest to find once the sand is in the middle. :) Been in Fl since '86 and have only found one...actually my daughter did, on a fort site where one would imagine there would be thousands of them???

Nice finds Gomer.

The way you display them is very attractive!

Thanks,
but stringing them is a real beach! :) If you weren't nervous before you started its guaranteed you will be when finished. :)

Real nice displays, Gomer. I've collected trade beads for many years, but I've yet to "find" any myself in situ. Those are true treasure!
I can't see them very well, are they all glass, or are some shell...?

Beautiful beads. I agree that stringing anything or untying knots would be a strain on my patience as well!

Are any of those pieces on the foam bone? If so,(I believe the Reaper told me this) the foam will break the bone down. I would cover that foam with a thick fabric or get rid of it. Nice looking displays!
