I was able to do a lot of detecting this long weekend both in my surrounding area and in my son's home town. The silver was eluding me until today. I decided to venture on a trail that is located adjacent to one of my regular spots, I followed it to a small clearing and got a good dime signal. The ground was a mix of rock, roots and dirt which made it hard to dig, but once I placed my pin pointer I quickly found a heavily corroded nickel which turned out to be a Jefferson nickel. I filled the hole and rechecked it and once again a good dime signal. Re-opened the hole, pin pointed to the area then dug out this nice 1935-S Mercury dime. Near by I also got a small bell which I thought may be a type of cow bell. The wheats in the photos are from other locations from this weekends hunts. HH
