transformer???

i have some transformers, from tvs and radios. some have ferrite around them i just hit with a hammer. the ones with the steel around them, does anyone have any tricks to getting these appart.I've been using a sawsall with a hack saw blade. pretty slow going.

Yep, get yourself a cheap 3/4" wood chisel and a hammer. Lay transformer on side, cut wire with chisel. Simple and quick! Make sure you have a way to sharpen the chisel from time to time!
