Passed a neighbor's house last Thursday and saw a vintage Garrett control box sticking out of the top of the trash can
by the side of the road. Turned around and went back and got it. It is a Garrett S1 early 1980s. Cleaned it up, the battery contacts were corroded lucky that the batteries that were still in it hadn't leaked. It works, it air tests maybe 5 inches but is very loud when it detects a target. Too bad it wasn't a Ground Hog or a Master Hunter. Now I have 3 vintage detectors.
