Travel with detector

Hi. I have not even received my new Garrett Ace 250 or started detecting yet. I have lots of questions but the big one looming right now is how to fly to Florida with the detector and equipment. Any thoughts?

I got my new DFX and got on a plane the next day. I knew I would be traveling by plane and car a fair amount, so I invested in the compact case offered by Whites. For airline travel, I was a bit nervous about sending the case through as luggage separately. Even with the padding, I thought the case and detector would take some beating. I put the case (see pic) inside a larger suitcase and buffered it with clothes. Everything came through fine - round trip.

I have same case as Wolfmanjoe3. I use it for my Whites XLT. It has traveled thousands of miles on various airlines with no problems. I can not speak for your particular model of detector, but you can get the idea from the nice photo posted by Wlofmanjoe3.
