TreasureTales' Travelogue - Day 4 - Wyoming

Day 4: Wyoming - The Cowboy State

Made it to Wyoming!! Beautiful weather - a little windy, which is typical for Wyoming.

Went to Kemmerer (always seems like I'm stuttering when I say that name) and saw the Visitor's Center for the Fossil Buttes National Monument. No collecting allowed, of course, but even the items for sale in the gift shop are REPLICA fossils. What a joke. Bought some fish fossils at a shop outside the government lands.

First Photo is a shepherd's wagon.

Second Photo is a group of pronghorn (antelope) - sorry there are so hard to see but everytime I stopped to photograph some that were close to the road they would run away - fast!

Third Photo is the sign at the entrance to the fossil monument

Fourth Photo is a fossil softshell turtle that was dug up there. How exciting that must have been to find!

Day 5 photos will be posted later tonight.

That's funny to hear it's hot in your part of CA because my sister says it's cold at her part of CA. I'm having a great time and the weather has been great everywhere!! I wish all of you could see these wonderful areas firsthand. In fact, if you have young children you should get them into the car and head for the West where history still lives on the back of a horse or in the campsites of the Mountain Men.
