Last day of October 2015 - a walk in the park

Ran into the "Hoover Boys" in a B'more park this AM and had another great day of detecting. This is my 5th consecutive hunt with at least one Indian; today there were four (two in one hole). The very worn IHP was at 10 inches and dates from 1865. Most of the 7 wheats: 1916-1937 were deep targets; so the F75 and NEL Tornado are doing the job. A find at the end of the hunt is the Distinctive Insignia of the 12th Infantry Regiment. 4Indians.webp7wheats.webpDI 12th Inf Regt and bullet.webpmedal_ring_collarbutton.webp

real nice hunt !!!

Great recoveries.

Thanks BF1, weather was excellent and with so many folks out I had several lengthy conversations with passers-by who were curious about what we were doing.

Thanks RJ55, with a number of us out detecting there were some other good finds: an 1850 LC, a 1914 British half penny, and a 3-ringer fired mini-ball.

Great job on those IH's, love that coin!

It is a good hunt when you can pull 4 IH pennies and all those wheats these days.

HEY DIG THAT BADGE IS A INTERESTING PEICE , DANG NICE FIND ...

That is a great hunt!
Did the Hoover Boys have their NEL coils on the AT today?

Thanks qaela4, maybe one of these times 1877 will show up.

Thanks CoilFisher, I believe all coils on the ground today were from the Ukraine.

Agreed. It's always good to see the indian.

Hi sutphin, plenty of info on-line to id the insignia badge.

LOL. Yes, I saw their one video with the AT and the NEL.
I have a NEL on a lower end machine I use and it does pretty good. Never bought a big one.
Stable on your F-75?

That Indian looks flattened out or is it the pic?

Awesome Halloween digs. :occasion14: It must be the year of the IHP, I have pulled 23 myself, and I have seen so many posted this season. Glad to see you're pulling your share.

CF, must be the pic.

NEL Tornado Booster DD very stable on F75LE. Had another productive brief hunt early Sunday. Will post finds later today.

Hey L-C, I'll continue to "pull my weight" on the indians. Congrats on your 23!

Ty for the info. Always curious on their products.
Can't wait to see your finds.
And, yes I can tell now--must be the way the Indian was positioned. Thanks!
