Trees near creek

I am going back to this area in a week and I'm trying to gather all the info I can. Here are a couple of beech trees near the creek. These two seem to have the same symbol on them (maybe it's the shape of a pool of water in the creek?). I do appreciate all the advice and knowledege. Thank You

I suppose it is possible. What direction are they. Also any rocks at the base? Best of luck !
