Gave it a go 2 hours before the low tide. Digging was tough, every time I scooped a wave would wash up the beach at 20 miles an hour and collapse the hole faster than I could retrieve some targets, I gave up on a couple of targets after 10 minutes of digging. The PI is a deepseeker. I found my first Canadian quarter, a 1993 with a moosehead on the front, pretty cool. I worked a few blocks at the North End of VB. Also tried out the new scoop, worked pretty good.

How does that turn in the handel of your scoop work, is it awkward???? Not sure about the weekend weather this weekend for oceanfront or sandbridge, last hunt at sandbridge was 2 coins at the entrance and 5 coins a little north of the pier, time to come north and see you and max.

Hey Norm...

The handle works pretty good. Once I bury the scoop for a target I pull it out with the handle, it provides a pretty nice hold. The lower handle I don't use unless I'm hunting in the water. Both of my scoops are homemade so they could use a little touch up here and there , but overall they both get the job done.

I also got into building a few scoops, I used stainless with 3/8 holes, with a pi machine I found that them little items that drop threw the 1/2 inch holes will drive you nuts. Used an aluminum handel to help hold off the weight and built another one with a fiberglass type handel. I use my mig machine with stainless wire and argon gas for welding. The stainless comes pre-punched but it is sure expensive.
