Trilobites and WW2 relics

I did little road trip for hunting fossils. Nearby there was forest where did occur some heavy fightings during WW2 between Wehrmacht and Soviet Union. Sadly I didn`t take my detector with me so no buckles etc. But I did find something. Ammo box of MG-39/MG-42 machine gun, shrapnels and German 20 mm. anti air-craft artillery shells. Also some nice fossils like trilobites and corals.

Love the Trilobites. Find a lot where I came from in Western NY. I'd almost trade a solid looking Greenops or Phacops any day of the week. I'd say you have one of the oldest finds of the day!

Wow! Nice Trilobite! I got my start collecting fossils, there are lots of them here in Montana!

This 20mm casings are not aa. The casings with the ring over the groove are most from aircraft cannons. The way they look im thinking about a crash site. Too bad that You havent the detector with You. A place with ammo boxes still laying on the ground is promising.

There was exploded bunker nearby. I think thats why shells are in this condition. Area was bombed heavily so I didnt dig anythin´g. Still mines, grenades and all kinds of explosives there. There was explosive warning signs there :P
