Hi Everyone, I hope that I can find out some information on a beautiful trunk I got today at a yard sale for 10.00. I took the measurements and it is ex 30 inches. I plan on looking harder into it tomorrow for any engravings but as for now the only "name" in the trunk is Donnybrook ND.
I do plan on keeping it the way it is and I am happy to post any additional pictures if needed. I feel something with this trunk and want to see what I can find out about it such as its maker, and history, and see what story it holds.

Welcome to Tnet.

It is indeed a very cool trunk. Unfortunately your pictures are very small and don't enlarge when clicked on. Could you re-set your camera to make them bigger? Folks aren't going to be able to help much unless they can see more detail.

Is the label in the base of the trunk a manufacturer label? It looks like it might have the image of a lady wearing a hat and holding some flowers... but the detail is poor. The other label (?) is pretty much indistinguishable.

I take it you know that Donnybrook in North Dakota didn't exist until 1895, was renamed to "Goetz" in 1897, and then a new town using the Donnybrook name sprang up a little to the west in 1898. It originally had just 30 inhabitants, rising to 504 in 1904. Today it's still a tiny place with a population of just 75 in 2020.

Any "secret" compartments? :treasurechest:
