I can't believe today's hunt...2 1/2 hrs. on wet slope and early shoreline as tide was receding.

Dropped Hank off for his golfing, and headed to one of my favorite beaches; hunted a steep wet slope.

In the first 5 minutes, I recovered the Washington; a few minutes later, the "Roosie"...and later the "merc" showed up.

I spent 2 hrs. gridding an area horizontally and vertically, with just coins and a bit of junque ( including 4 1/2 spoons) to show for the effort.

Decided to do a diagonal grid on the same area...and soon I heard that low "growly" tone ...just like yesterday.

(Now this is proof of how careless I can be out there...should have picked this up on the H & V grid... :>(

Scooped out a signet ring :hello2:...looks antique maybe; but the center is full of a solid , unmovable cement -like substance.???

I've been electrolyzing it for over an hour and a half...not much progress.:icon_scratch:

I have no idea how else to get rid of this rock hard substance

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

Will have to post the pic of the ring later when/if I can get it fully cleaned

Here's some preliminary pics.
