Quartzite hide scrapers? I think they are artifacts, how about you.

I’d be surprised if they were.

The pics don’t show anything that says it’s been worked.

Two geo facts of a kind, just my luck.

With all due respect Fred, NO! You need to "bone-up" on what actual artifacts look like--hide scrapers in particular!

I may not know what the correct term is, but I can spot an artifact imo. Just seems no one else thinks so.

Fred, what about these finds made you believe they were used in some way?

Fred,
You should put all those great artifacts that you posted this year and put them together in a display frame. We’d love to see them all together.

I'll try to get some pics up of little worked scrapers. Maybe that will help. The shape is not so much important as to the worked areas on it.

The two areas where your hand would be while using this one are both smooth, unlike the rough surface of the rest of the rock for one thing. Almost like it spent a lot of time in someone’s hand, maybe.... scraping hides? Lol.

Mucker, You live close enough, I can show them to you in person. Lol.

The rough areas are where it naturally detached / cracked off of a vein (or from another source) more recently than the smooth areas Fred. The smooth areas are from natural weathering/erosion. I love your enthusiasm though!

Oh, that was sarcasm I guess. Oh well.

Rocks. Stones will not get smooth in someone’s hand due to being worked as a tool.

Crush those rocks and pan, might be some gold in them......

Fred, you must buy or look on line at all the Indian artifact photos and related information pertaining to true artifacts. Good luck.
