I have this vintage or antique metal box that is monogrammed 3 AvA on the front. On the inside bottom it says T•Banks Cornhill London. I've tried for hours to figure out any history on it or even what 3 AvA is to no avail. Can anyone please help me out here please. I'm pretty good at researching stuff but I'm totally list here!!

I was thinking safe deposit box but with that latch on the front I doubt that is what it is. How about a change box, or cash box.

What is the metal of the box? And are you sure about T&bull could that be Thornhill?

Thornhill was a cutler, silversmith and also made metal and silver writing boxes, this looks like an old writing box.
Thornhill was located on 42 Cornhill, London in 1859.

I believe it looks like it says T•Banks there no bull in the name. You can see it in one of the pictures.
