Nighttime temps below freezing.......daytime temps high 30s.......wind makes it feel much colder.........
Still, working my last 2 permissions..........to the bitter cold end............

Looks like silver, feels like silver, heavy like silver, looks to be crafted, no markings...........what the heck is it?

Cool piece - but can't add any insight that hasn't already been offered - very cool piece tho! Congrats.

Very interesting piece, congratulations! :occasion14:

Thats way cool!
I was thinking Mayan or Peruvian as well.
How wide and how thick is it?
Perhaps a Converted Spanish Silver Coin?
The eyelet looks like it was added after the disc was "made"
Congrats on an awesome piece and a real head scratcher..

Whatever it is Chizzy, one thing is for sure... It's your's :occasion14: Congrats on digging that unique piece. I am looking forward to your 2017 finds post.

Very interesting find! I love unusual discoveries like this! Gives me something to research during cold, snowy winter nights. Still lots of time to go detecting before the new year. Hope the weather cooperates. Got 7" of snow on Saturday, but it has mostly melted at this point. I'm holding on for 1-2 more hunts before years end. Good luck all.

the earrings on the guy are a big indicator, also the llama, that's a given, but the ear lobes ornamentation is a big deal, Lots of Amazonian tribes do the earlobe stuff the Huaorami of the Amazon Basin is one, Central American tribes as well had lots of piercings and ornamentation, Aztec and Maya are the big ones. it was just a big deal amongst world cultures and still is. I think it was a souvenir that someone got in the Andes, probably is silver, Silver mining is still a staple of life down there (Spaniards kinda forced that on them).

Thanks for that insight, P.Allen.........I'm still searching along those lines.

Thank you. Sorry about the lack of information in my opening post........it is almost the same diameter of a quarter and is 2/3 the thickness with the raised elements.
