Trying to I.D. a token

I am new to this forum as of yesterday and today I found a token that I don't know anything about. I am in Washington State. I found a token that is about 3/4" dia. and made of tin? Anyway the words I can read are "tax commission" around the perimeter and then on the inside, in a circle it says "sales tax" on one half and the other says "token". I can't find a date or other info. due to corrosion. I found it on the beach in Puget Sound. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Also not too long ago I found a all metal 12 gauge shotgun shell, probably a slug, and on the rim it said " Leader Co. 1901". Anybody know anything about the Leader Co. Shotgun shells? This is a great forum. Also I am moving to Florida next week and if anyone has any tips on hunting on the gulf side around central Florida, I am all ears.

Thanks for all the good replies. It's really nice to have so many "experts" to lean on when needed. I haven't figured out how to post a picture yet. I use a Whites MXT, any tips? I have owned a Tesoro El Dorado and a Garrett Grand Master Hunter III. The Tesoro was a manual ground balance and the deepest of all, with an aluminum 1" nail at 10" in mountain soil, with the stock 8" spider coil. Don't ask me how it got there. It was in an old coal mining town. The MXT is also very good. The Garrett was disappointing. I never in two years ever dug anything deeper than 4" with the 8" coil and never any deeper than 6" with the 12" coil. I think all the bells and whistles that it had took alot of power away from detecting. My god, it even talked to me!!! Again, thanks for the replies.

WA state Tax tokens are fun to find....congrats. Probably looks like these I found last month. Some are dated others not. They even made plastic ones.
