I got out hunting a local beach last week , and found a aluminum alloy coin, from Brasil, dated 1924.Then about a foot away,I found a copper or bronze coin dated 1869.The coin is very corroded,so it is hard to identify.I have been searching the internet trying to identify it.The back of the coin shows a crown on top of a shield, and inside the shield is a ring.I have seen this before on a coin, but I don't remember in what country the coin was made. The coin is slightly larger than a quarter. The front shows a right facing bust, with lettering on both sides. If anyone can help me identify it,I would really appreciate it.This coin is nothing special,I'm just curious. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I took a picture of both sides of the coin, and the coin is so corroded that too few details can be seen to help identify the coin.I'm sure that the coin has no real value, but I will keep trying to find out where it was minted.

I kept looking at this coin, with a magnifier today, trying to make out some of the letters on the coin, and I finally saw the name Petrus II.I looked that name on line and found that this coin was from Brasil, just like the coin that I found it with, the 1924 aluminum alloy coin. When I checked in to this site, tonight,I found that Mackaydon had found it already.I thank him very much for that, and wish that I had logged in earlier.I can rest now that this little mystery has been solved.Thanks.
