I,ve had and have these units. they dont get used much because i now use [troy x5]......... question what kind of modifations can be made.

These old S.P.D. machines didn't get modified much as far as I know.
Someone tried to slow the sweep speed down to get away from the whipping motion needed for the motion discrim. mode but failed to get anywhere.
You could try a post on the Geotech forum but don't think you would ever get any great improvement.

Yup, they don't modify well. I have the RB5, RB7, and Mini Red Baron... looking for other members of the RB series for my collection, if you want to part with them. Esp. looking for the RB3 and RB10.
