So I took the dive and bought a new E-Trac on Saturday... thanks to a quarterly bonus from work.

Took it out in the back yard on Sunday and swung it around a bit... I was sooooo disappointed and couldn't believe I had spent that kind of money on this crazy thing. Seriously, from watching all of the finds videos on you tube, it was like the coins were being sucked out of the ground and sticking to the coil.

So I went about REALLY watching the E-Trac videos and REALLY reading some of the posts that people have posted and set about to REALLY give it a good go this evening. Success. Thanks to all who have posted their experience with this machine. So very helpful in getting up the hump. :notworthy:

So I started out, found some iron whats-its what were giving me some falsing... remembered a vid I saw last night that basically said "This is falsing".

Carefully ignored the falsing and bam... clad nickle... bam 2 lincolns... bam 1 zincloln... then the sweet music... hit around 12-45 at 4 inches :headbang: . I knew exactly what it was from the videos... called my wife over... popped the plug... and yippee 1920 merc!

Checked the area again... another 12-45 about 4 inches away... popped it up... 1929 merc! :headbang:

So very glad i found this site!!!!

nice!!!! :icon_thumright: I'm waiting on my E-trac to arrive via UPS this week... can't wait to do this too!!! :)

Congrats on the silver!!!

Looks like Pennsylvania is sucking up ETracs....LOL.....got mine last Thursday night, found silver on Saturday night!!

Looks like a learning curve ahead but one worth taking on!!

Congrats again!

Dave

Seems Pennsylvania is on the Etrac wagon lately! :headbang:

What can I say? It's my go to machine as well. :)

Do you all want to really get the most out of the etrac? Check out Coiltek's 10x5 Joey coil ....

I love that coil in trash areas.

congrats!! I'm loving finding more silver now that I have an ETrac!

Thanks, everybody!

By the way, I strongly recommend that anyone that lives or hunts near me should not buy an E-Trac. They are no good and have a really steep learning curve. ;D

Welcome to the forum! Got mine a couple of months ago and love it!
Nice Mercs!

Just across the river from Harrisburg, Cumberland County. Wanna get together and hunt sometime? It would be great to learn a thing or two from a vetran user.

We can possibly work that out. But we better bring a veteran along with us though. I just got mine a few weeks ago!

nice finds!!! and if u ask me the SAFARI is just as good as the E-trac, and a bit cheaper.. MR TUFF

Thanks!

Safari looks like an awesome machine as well. I have not used one, but might be just as good as the E-Trac in the field. If tend to regret over-buying quite a bit less than under-buying. If I did not have the scratch on hand for the ET, the Safari was also on the short list.

You can hear me saying, "once you E-trac, you'll never go back".

Nice finds!
you SC PA boys just stay on your own side of the river :nono:

Be patient and listen to what the machine is telling you, when it clicks, you'll know it and start digging more and deeper targets!

you Etrac owners need to start your own private club so us Non-Etrac owners dont have to listen to all the bragging!!! I do just as well with my Whites!!!!!!! Nobody ever takes credit for personal knowledge, everybody says its the machine? Its so easy a caveman can do it!!! Just my 2 cents!!!

:headbang: Minelab Etrac strikes again...If you need any help with your machine, please feel free call me. I'll be glad to help you out. Mike

You are soooo true. Couldn't have said it any better.

Stick a standard 10 inch coil on any machine and you will go deeper.

Can you say superiority complex?

As a recent switchover to the E-Trac from a DFX I have to say that there really is something different about the minelabs. I find more coins next to objects(Iron or other) than with the DFX. I found two silver first 4 hours out with it and the dfx woud not dick them up with various coils and setups tried. The signals were dead on and unwavering on the Minelab. All I could get was trash sounds from the DFX.

The E-trac will pick all coins in my garden right out of box. I am very sold on it.
