Finally got back to my early river site from last summer. Moved some brush around, dug every tone and found some stuff. Nearly smooth William and Mary Halfpenny(1689-94) and a Charles II Bawbee Halfpenny(1677-79) as well as possible cut hammered copper. I can clearly see the letters FR and a B on it. Also found a little cut piece of what Im pretty sure is a cob(kinda messed it up trying to clean it) as well as a couple other tiny pieces of possible silver. Best relics were the flat button with the early style shank, large leather ornament, tiny little coin weight?, and sweet little buckle frame with some decoration on it

1600 copper is the cherry on top of the ice cream.

Congratulations on some awesome saves :icon_thumleft:

That is so awesome to find two 1600's coins in one hunt! My goal someday to find one! Congrats!

Can you show the front of that old button?

Wait, you still haven't gotten to do the field behind that beach? Good god, just imagine what is there. Killer finds by the way as always!

Amazing toasted I wish I could hunt somewhere like that Well done

I don't find many of those Bawbee's! Nice.
The weight might be a Bullion Penny Weight or maybe a medicine type, not a coin weight.
If you're not too bothered about your near blank Spanish Cob, & want some details, I would rub it between aluminium foil with a bit of spit. It will make it a little shinny but any faint detail will be highlighted. I have used this to ID near blank Roman Silvers & Medieval hammereds.
Spit and foil is what got it to this point already
