Two 1800's UFO's

These are two "Unidentified Found Objects"(UFO's) I found on a 1800's tavern site.
There is a plate thing I found in the grass about 7" deep and the round thing in the remains of the old SLAVE TUNNLE located in the basment that used to lead under the whole property and who knows where.
The round thing is just a tiny bit smaller than a half dollar.

Re: Two 1800's UFO's

The first piece looks similar to the ash-pit door for my fireplace (located in the basement).

Blacksheep, I agree ash door. The second item looks to be a horse rosette.

Re: Two 1800's UFO's

the middle rectange doesn't move, it is attached to the main plate, if that affects anything. Thanks for all of the feedback on the door thing, but does anyone know about the round thing?

The second piece resembles one of those old street sign reflectors. Can you clean it up a bit?

How long was the place used or lived in. Th round thing looks like it could be a coat button from the 1930's or so.

From my last quote, The second item looks to be a horse rosette. The back appears to be lead filled?

If it is lead filled I would say it is a rosette. To me it doesn't look lead filled. It looks like 2 pieces (a front and back). I could be wrong though
