Two (believed to be) 1770's coppers in 40 minutes
So today I just had to get out there and detect. I don't have many sites to go to so I thought I'd wing it and test an area just beside my house. It paid off. I live in Massachusetts and went to a field with no particular excitement in the history books, but definitely to the amateur detectorist. =D
First coin, best condition. Also working with the best camera I could find.

Second one, no real markings but definitely in the same age grouping.

I also found a little guy hiding close to the surface, plowed fields are great for that!

All together now!

This was an extremely short hunt (40 minutes) in a brand new area with no real evidence of finding anything as good as what I did. Very happy with today and definitely spending every minute I can there before the vegetation is out of control, wish me luck!
