Looks very small for a #8.
I was thinking a #1, but even looked smaller than a #1.
Maybe those are numbered different?
Hi Kody sorry for confusion I'm not the OP just responding to your original comment in the post, I dug a different crotal bell but only found one ever and thought it odd that it was so big. Happy holidays! Congrats again to the OP for the great day!

Any day you can recover an old copper is a great day in my book. Finding two adds up to a really great day. Congrats! Love the crotal bell too. I've only ever found one of those.

had a great full day detecting a site from the early 1800s. Coppers were super toasted but if anybody can toss out a guess that’s be most appreciated!
Awesome finds! In case you didn't know already, I'm almost sure the button is a "tombac button" judging from the pic, which would place it in the 1700's. Tombac is a type of metal. I get excited finding these. Not as common. Congrats on your first complete crotal bell. When I first started detecting I watched a video from the UK and someone said in their detecting circle it was common to hang your first crotal bell on your rear view mirror in your vehicle. That signified that you had finally found one! I've had one on mine for the last 12 years and two right now. I like hearing them ring while I drive. Nice finds!
