first decision this morning was to hunt K-Town Carnival Grounds,
Since The Humidity is down & It felt a Bit Cold this Morning .

The Carnival Grounds only date to the late 1930's
However the site has given me a 1790's Half Cent & 1790's Large Cent
plus plenty of Silver from the 1940's over the years. one of those spots you just never know.

I probably could have done better but as the Sun come over the Mountain Range
the Heat became unbearable. So I decided I would go to The North Woods.

On the way I swung By the Red Bridge Picnic Grove.
The place gets mowed once a Year at Best.
this must have been their Time, because the Grass was finally mowed so
instead of moving on I stopped for an hour.

The site dates to at least 1850's and was used by all the first northern Dauphin county
schools for picnics etc. the church is owned by the Klinger Church which dates to 1787
so it can date back Earlier.
Site has given up Barbers, indians, & V's .
but the Place is mostly on a Hill side & worked to the Bone. repeatable Signals are far & few between these days.

The photos are great, and really gave me a sense of the area you hunted. Congrats on the Wheat, and on getting out and enjoying yourself! :occasion14:

Beautiful country. Thanks for sharing!

I seem to recall a chapter in Charles Garrett's book on coin hunting that was all about carnival and fairgrounds. I've always thought these would be prime coin-shooting territory. And you have found 1790's coins there? That's pretty exciting - I can see why you go back! Congrats on the wheat, and good luck on future hunts!

Jeff,I always enjoy looking at the photos on your posts, and you did not spend all that time with nothing to show for it.

Nice pictures. Don't forget an area is not picked clean till its picked clean! lol you know what I mean!
Keep the pictures flowing!
