I went back to the local civil war camp today for a couple hours. Hadn't been there too long and was hunting along the edge of the woods which is the property line between the property I had permission to detect and a neighbor. This drew the attention of the neighbor and he came to see what I was doing.
After talking with him for a few minutes and assuring him I had permission to hunt were I was at, he out of the blue tells me that I can hunt on his lot as well!
However, if I found a million dollars I would have to give it to him.
No more briar patch for me today! Spent about an hour on his property before I had to leave. Got my best finds there. Two Louisville and Nashville RR boxcar lead seals! Not civil war, but cool nonetheless. The L&N RR ran by the property from 1882 till 1908 when they ran a new double track about 2 miles away.
