Pictures have been uploaded. Let mw know if you have trouble seeing them.

I am not sure on what "help" you are seeking... I assume you are looking for info overall and perhaps a value...

II know little about them overall... meaning I am no "blanket expert"...

but I do know some things just being in the world of antiques for eons... and perhaps someone here that does know more can pipe in on this.

Anyway... like anything... number 1... condition is everything.

Size is another major factor in evaluation... so you need that.

Just by your photos I would say the one on the left is Mexican.

But ?

I am with AARC here, I don't think they are NA. The one on the left looks more Peruvian to me, the one on the right looks Mexican to me also.

A little edit: Peru is in South America and Mexico in North America so I suppose they could have both been made by "native Americans", I just don't think they were made by our southwestern USA native Americans.

I believe you are correct gunsil. Perhaps a good book on Native American weaving would be just the ticket to get the OP up to speed on identifying NA rugs. Good luck to all!

Thank you for your inputs. I wasn’t able to see your posts until today.

My gut instinct said the left one was not likely old nor NA. The one on the left feels, looks and is patterned differently and makes me think older and NA. I have some Ecuadorian and Guatemalan modern work. Gifts, touristy stuff. Anyhow, until I get more info I’m not buying them and they aren’t going anywhere soon.

Crap, meant right one feels NA and different.

You got me doing it AARC.
