This is a compilation of a few hunts over the last several days. I found 117 clad coins worth $6.69, 7 Wheats from 1918 to 1956, 1941 Merc dime, 1951d Washington quarter, 1903 Indian Head, musket ball, an old buckle marked Hamilton, what I think is part of an old brooch, and the last but not least item is a medal from Lakemont Park in Altoona Pa. commemorating G.A.R. vets day[ Civil War vets] dated Sept. 6th, 1913. It is missing the top part with the pin to attach it to their uniform. It was really rough looking before cleaning, but it turned out pretty good. I went back and searched the place I found it hoping to find the top part, but no luck! I still think it is an important piece of local history. Lakemont Park dates back to the late 1800's. Thanks for looking. Happy hunting and keep on swinging. IMG_0001.webpIMG_0004.webpIMG_0007.webpIMG_0010.webpIMG_0002.webpIMG_0003.webpIMG_0005.webpIMG_0009.webpIMG_0011.webp

Sweet, you pulled quite a few keepers in those hunts. I really like that Lakemont Park GAR medallion. I lived in Altoona Pa for a few years and that's where Lakemont Park is.

That is an amazing hunt wow there is so many things that are left in a park from the 1800s I bet its a silver hot spot also Hope you find the othe piece gotta be in or very near the spot you found the main piece.. Thanks for sharing!!!!!

nice looking GAR, i found one in a local park here in minnesota, someone from out east seen my fb page when i posted offered me $85, sold it. was in same condition as your pick.

Congratulations on your good hunts. The Grand Army Of The Republic medal is by far the most excellent. Lost by a survivor of the civil war. Very nice save! A find like that really makes me pause and think. Not an item lost by anyone. But someone that was a part of something so big.

Great hunt! That GAR metal is awesome!! Congrats [emoji106]

We don't come across G.A.R. Medallions very often. That is a sweet find. Congrats on the wheat and silver. Nice couple of hunts.

The GAR medal is really sweet... dated and all. Nice find.

I like the coins too. Well played sir!

Nice finds. I love the old coins, but I have to agree with the others - the GAR medallion is the top pick! Congrats!

Mighty fine digging!

I was raised and have lived most of my life here in the Altoona area, Loco.

I was stationed there back from 1994-1997 as the Supply Sgt for the 298th Maintenance Company (DS), right there on Pleasant Vally Blvd and lived up on 3rd St. about a block from Fairview Park. Small world.

Congrats those are some really good finds
