Detector(s) used
Garrett Ace 250, Minelab Explorer SE, Minelab Eureka, Minelab Sovereign, and some kind of old Whites
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I got off work a little early today and decided to hit an old church yard with my Ace 250 that I had previously hunted out with my Explorer SE Not expecting to find alot because I think both machines are great machines but to my surprise within 45 mins. I had 5 clad dimes, 2 clad pennies, and 2 silver dimes the first being a 1944 merc and the second being a 1956. I was really impressed with the Ace. thanks jeff

I'm not sure that I understand you. Are you saying that the Ace 250 is a better detector than the Explorer SE?

No not at all its just been about four years since I had hunted it with the Minelab and ground conditions could have changed alot in four years. But I do not think Minelab will out perform the Ace either. jeff

Welcome, and nice finds today!

Thank you

Yeah, nice finds -- any day with silver is a good day.

Agreed Thanks

Congrats on the silver... :icon_thumright:

Thanks I do enjoy seeing that silver laying in the bottom of the hole

Nice finds!! There's nothing like seeing silver in the hole.....unless it's Gold that is :)

I havn't found gold yet but Im still trying

That's pretty funny! :laughing7:

I've got not nothing against the Ace 250, I think it's a fine machine and even bought one for my nephew, but I also have Garrett's flagship model the GTI-2500 as well as all of the Explorer models and the new CTX-3030 (my first machine was the GTI-2500 until I switched over to the Explorer XS). The 3030 is faster, but it is even hardpressed to outperform the SE Pro in the right hands. You probably missed those dimes with the SE because you didn't cover that ground--I doubt very much the SE didn't "see" them.

Well another thing it could have been is either user error or that Ive had alot of problems out of the SE The main circuit board went out of it the first month and theres been several other little things that went wrong with it also. But I still believe it is what you get used to using weather it be a SE or a 250 or a Whites or whatever.
