Yesterday was a holiday here in Canada, so I decided to hit a couple of sites that I’ve been detecting on and off since the arkies finished digging them. The first site is the same one I hit last weekend where I found 6 coins and 12 buttons. The second site has been planted with soybeans, so I was only able to detect the periphery identified in red. I've also included a few pics of how this site looked last summer when the arkies were digging here. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any coins this time, but I did find an interesting ‘Kendrick’ button and a beautiful brass watch case and the Kruschen Salts jar.

L & KENDRICK * SUPERFINE" Gilt Button — the mark of Leavenworth & Kendrick, c. 1829. The firm of Mark Leavenworth, his son Benjamin Franklin Leavenworth, and son-in-law Green Kendrick.
Leavenworth also operated under various partnerships from 1811 to 1849:
· Leavenworth, Hayden, and Scovill, Waterbury Connecticut 1811 to 1827. J.M.L. (Lamson) Scovill was the junior partner!
· Leavenworth & Kendrick, Waterville Connecticut 1829 to 1842.
· Leavenworth Spencer & Sperry, Waterbury Connecticut 1836 to 1839.
· Leavenworth & Company, Waterbury Connecticut 1839 to 1849.
‘KRUSCHEN SALTS’ Jar – “Prevents Constipation & Rheumatism” - c1920 - 30
Jar of Kruschen Salts
“Still available for sale in some countries in 2003, Kruschen Salts has been a popular domestic medication for decades. The product works as a laxative, but because constipation has at different times been considered the cause of other illnesses, such as rheumatism, arthritis, headaches and influenza, advertisements for Kruschen Salts have made all sorts of claims for its remedial powers. Customers were exhorted to “Get that Kruschen feeling!”.
Thanks very much for looking…. Hope everyone has a great July 4[SUP]th[/SUP] long weekend!

Dave
