U.S. COMPASS

Found this last summer, second one in 10 years. First one in Seattle and this one in Elma Washington. Does anybody have any info. on these. It's the size of a pocket watch, Has U S on the front. The first one I found was brass but this one is discolered.

Military issued. A buddy found one in a CW camp that was marked "U.S." on the front. Yours is later, of course...

but I can't tell much about it from the fuzzy photos.
