I recently purchased a "camp shovel" from Kco for $10. On Kco's site it looks quite durable. Wrong! First plug, I nearly bent it in half? Upon closer examination, I notice a made in China sticker. 
So yesterday, I visit the local Army/Navy surplus and purchased a collapsible entrenching tool, (E-tool), for $30. Correct purchase. I put it to the test today with zero signs of wear. Lesson learned; buy American!
