After this site gave up a baby's butt smooth "Half Real" the other day I figured it was worth spending a couple hours using 15 khz on my DFX to see if it would give up any more little pieces of silver.
Well, she ain't exactly a beauty queen but I sure have a renewed interest in this old pounded out cellar hole site and in the two hours i spent there i covered a very small area very slowly so I'm excited to go back.
Here's a few pics.Thanks for havin a look,
Jerry

Yes Jerry.I posted it a well back. It's 1861 seated quarter. On the left stamped S.C.F.on the right stamped 1868. Very nice looking coin.I need a better camera or more practice.

Wow, looks like she had a hard life in the dirt, but she is still a Beauty! Gotta love those Barber dimes. Congrats.

By the way I love liver and onions. LOL :icon_thumright:

A site ain't done until there isn't a signal left. Nice work with the button and silver, Jerry. Slow gridding certainly pays--and the amount it pays goes up in relationship to the amount of iron there is. On the fringe areas, finds are easily heard--but up close to a cellar hole ya gotta pick through it all. And it looks like you're getting some goodies that way. WELL DONE.

Going back and hitting the site differently paid off well for you, nice finds, I like the button

Very Sweet. Nice button and well not so nice Barber. Still exciting when old silver turns up. Better than a 1903 IH. ;D Also, it's an "O" mintmark which doubles it's value.
