People can ask as much as they want to ask for something, it's only really worth what someone will pay.

I am very inclined to believe the price of that listing is misleading, along with the date (1869), the coin (medal) is modern.

If you look more you'll see that majority of this particular item are in the 5-40 dollar range.

It's not dated 1869 that's just inauguration date

Proof that Ebay is misleading, set below is worth around $10 at most, people can sell something for anything.
