There's a guy here in Maine who recently bought a T2 SE. He got ahold of me and was asking me for some pointers about his new machine. I told him to just bring it up and I'd take him out. Much easier to show than to tell. So out we went to a field and started swinging. I was happy that I could observe a few things and make some recommendations. He was psyched with the lesson and he was a great student. Super nice guy :-)
Now to the part where I actually pulled something cool out of the ground. It looks like some sort of a mini hatchet to me. I'd love to know if anyone knows anything about its age and what it was used for. I love the shape of it. It only measures about 4 1/2". I also found a pewter button that looks pretty old. Thanks for the help guys and best of luck out there, Abe

Broken belt ax and possible bale seal

Arrghh...too bad the trade axe is broken...would have been a beauty!

I don't know nuthin about them, but looks like 1700's stuff to me

That looks to be a 1700s cast pewter button . Nice find!!

Cool finds mate but I think the button looking thing is most likely a bag seal as well. The pewter buttons or atleast the ones I get are usually a lot smoother . I could be wrong though I'm no expert still cool though and that tomahawk looking thing :)

Yeah it's def a really old pewter button. In very bad shape but it's got a shank that's tough to see in the pics.

Nice Colonial Artifact Ahab ! Like buckles ax's are kinda dated in 40 year blocks ! My estimation is 1770 to 1810 give or take another decade ! MaineRelic
