unfinished game piece

here is a bone someone was making game pieces with
they got interrupted some how and never finished this last one
maybe his wife told him to stop and go do something else or who knows?
here it is
any opinions on this?

interesting piece. i am enjoying the bone artifacts that are popping up on this site. my guess is that is was used as some sort of "jewelry" that hung down and not attached to clothing, etc due to lack of drill holes. i think it is interesting to note that the piece is not only notched, but also engraved on both sides. it seems to me that if they wanted to suspend the piece, all they had to do was to just notch it like they did. now i am second guessing myself so i will stop rambling.
 
mickey, the piece I am talking about is in the process of being cut off of a piece of split bone
what you are refering to as engraving on both sides is the cut mark which is not completed
the end piece with the point on it was meant to be discarded
do you see what I mean?
it is the piece next to the penny that was meant to be made into a game piece not the whole thing
I have taken a picture of a finished piece placed next to the piece of bone stock that some one was trying to cut but got interupted
look at the following images front and back and you will see what I mean, OK?
