It has a hole where the wick is coming through on it. It has a very soft wick, almost cottony. The glass is solid.

It is an alcohol lamp of the type used by jewelers, assayers. chemists and glassworkers, often in conjunction with a blowpipe.
Do an image search for "alcohol lamp" and you will find many examples.
