unidentified rock. I've just been rummaging around in the attic and found this rock in a shoebox. Any idea what it could be?

No idea the black is like volcanic pumice and the middle is shiny. I'm in the UK. But no idea where the previous owners had it from

Looks like hornblende (google it)
