I found this artifact around a farm house built in 1839. it is quite heavy and 1.5" in diameter. Does anyone know what it might be?
 

Try posting in the "What is it?" forum (What Is It?).

The members here are experts in circulating coin, not so much other treasures (some cross over happens though).

Is it made of metal?

Welcome to the forum, it looks like a led backed bridle rosette missing the crossbar on the back. HH :icon_thumleft:
