✅ SOLVED Unknown brass piece found in yard of where old house stood. Ideas?

I found this old brass piece where an old house once stood and believe it to be automobile or farm related. I thought sprinkler head, but with female threads? And fluid flow from the threaded side would push piston closed. Would love to ID.

I think it is a sprinkler head but not for a yard but instead a fire sprinkler head. Google "vintage fire sprinkler heads"

Looks like a check valve for a well or part of one.

it's a foot valve from a well it's missing the screen but here's a pic. it goes in the bottom of the well to hold the water in the pipe and not allow it to drain back into the well once pumped up., southfork got it right.
