What a beautiful day (no humidity, yeah) in NC today! I found these 3 iron pieces in an area that has produced everything from Civil War items to V-Nickles. All 3 pieces were touching each other in the same hole. The chain link looking piece was looped on the large circle as shown in the 1st pic. I'm guessing farm or tack related, but am in hopes you smart folks can tell me what it is. :thumbsup: Thanks in advance, Breezie

Creskol, I thought the same thing, but was not sure. I almost made a pic with them together, but didn't want to sway anyone's thoughts. Do you have a clue what it could be? Nice photoshop work, and thanks for the reply. Breezie

I am pretty sure it is the side frame of a bit. I will check to see if I can find a photo of the one I am thinking about.

It would be one similar to this one .. I have to get up early to go detecting (4:30), so I will do a more thorough search tomorrow evening to see if I can find the exact one, but this one gives the general idea.
