Looks like half of a victorian sash buckle. The other half would be identical to the one you found. Others have been posted here before.

Absolutely a two piece, most likely Victorian - I don't think sash necessarily, just fashion belt.

Nope...Never to picky. We all like to learn. Had I not seen them here, I would never have known what they were. Since I saw my first one here, I have found several. Funny how that works. :D
