All I know from watching TV is that if its authentic Japanese it will be signed on the blasé under the hilt. I doubt they will let you take off the handle. So it would have to be a gut buy....

It is for one in horrible condition,
2 it is unlikely to take it apart as any markings of an original sword will be on the tabs which is under the grip.ive bought swords which were a lot better for a lot less but if you plan on restoration it may be a fun project.to disassemble it you have to remove the bamboo pin in the grip.
Any other ?S just message me.
Thanks,
Paul

I disagree.

This sword is in decent condition... the scabbard is in bad condition.

This will be signed under the handle on the tang.

IMO... officers sword... and a very nice one. GREAT score for 200.

Well done.

PS>>> please post some more closeup pics... especially of any markings if you would like any further input from us here.

Don't restore it, leave it as is. Any non-professional sword restoration always hurts the value. You could have a very valuable antique blade or just a cool WW2 era sword. Nice score.
