✅ SOLVED unsolved need help identiftying

can anyone help identify as to what this is....this was found metal detecting on friends property...its approx 1" in length. the lid comes off, under the lid there is a screen, inside the canister were ashes of some sort....some visible writing on outside says ENGLAND. any help would be appreciated.

no....there are not other markings that can be seen or noticeable

my first thought when i saw this object..thought it came out of a carburrettor kit for a old SU carb...off some british car...
the kits had jets stored in similar containers...couldn't find one on line to examine...
