Hey fellas, I just finished a box of cents.. It had 16 wheaties. But I found one that interests me a lot! I'm wondering if it is completely unstruck? Its not worn at all.. it like almost new. Aside from some stains.. ii know it is post-1982 because it doesn't have copper..I'm new to cent hunting.. So maybe y'all can help me out? I'll post a pic, let me know what y'all think..

I may be wrong, but I think it is impossible for it to be struck on one side only.

That is an unstruck cent.

I thought so too, but I have one. And it is CLEAR on the one side, and yet nothingon the other.

I was told that it probbly stuck to another cent and therefore was struck on one side but the other side had the other cent onit. that cent was probably the one struck twice, and struck twice only on one side. But it is a very nice 1962D in great shape on one side and TOTALLY blank on the other side. I'll try to get a pic if I can. Never good at pics ...

I would definitely weigh that coin. I would believe more likely it has been sanded down.

The center coin reverse doesn't seem to have a rim but the obverse does. How much does it weigh?

This can happen its called a capped die, a planchet gets stuck to either the obv or rev die and a another coin enters the press. The coin in the coining press gets struck with either the obv or reverse die completely covered with the stuck planchet and thus is only struck on one side.

Example....

jfr30 if you can get better pics up i can confirm exactly what you have but based on your pics no one can say?
