Unusual find !

Not so unusual per se but I found this penny recently in Jamaica in 4’ of salt water ! It’s not even pitted.

Looks like something coated and protected it. Or it was dropped recently. Amazing condition.

it's a 1957 when they were made with 95% copper . a 2023 one cent coin is a whopping 2.5% copper and 97.5% zinc.

Yep, I collect the copper pennies now, since they're becoming rarer, 1982 was the last year they were made good.
